CAPE TOWN - Technical teams from Google are expected in the country soon after parts of the internet giant's balloon project were found in the Northern Cape.

A farmer discovered remnants of a secret Google project on his premises earlier this month.

It's believed the findings were components of an internet test project.

Two weeks after the incident, the farmer says he's still in the dark about the Google balloon that landed on his farm.

It's understood the balloon is part of the search engine's internet giant project, aimed at establishing cheap internet access.

Still inundated with media calls, the farmer says he's still waiting for the search internet giant's arrival.

"I have no interest in these computer things, I'm just a farmer. I couldn't find any signage on the balloon. All that was written on it was 'Made in the USA' …looks like everything is made in the USA."

A team of experts will head to the country next week to collect the equipment.
