Baxter, Mashamaite receive PSL monthly awards
The Premiership Player and Coach of the Month award were awarded to Kaizer Chiefs again.
JOHANNESBURG - Premier Soccer League (PSL) leaders Kaizer Chiefs have once again scooped the Premiership Player and Coach of the Month award as defender Tefu Mashamaite and head coach Stuart Baxter took the honours for September and October.
As only a handful of PSL fixtures took place in September and October, the PSL and partners agreed to merge the two months into a joint award and Baxter and Mashamaite will each receive R5,000 for their efforts during this period that has seen Chiefs set the pace at the top of the log.
Amakhosi, led by Baxter, won three matches and drew one fixture during the judging period.
Mashamaite has meanwhile been a critical component to the team's defence and has played a crucial leadership role in the absence of club captain Itumeleng Khune.
Chiefs have made a record-breaking start to the PSL season and clearly have their sights firmly set on winning another title.
