CAPE TOWN - The Proteas have beaten Australia by three wickets.

South Africa ended 157 for 7 after 27 overs in the second One Day International (ODI) at the WACA in Perth

South Africa bowled Australia all out for 154.

Morne Morkel took an astronomical five wickets while Dale Steyn took three.

The hosts won the toss and decided to bat first.

Morkel found pace and bounce to dismiss David Warner (0) and Steve Smith (10) during his opening spell.

Only Mitchell Marsh (67) and George Bailey (25) offered any real resistance to Morkel and Steyn.

Morkel returned in the 35th over to dismiss Matthew Wade (19) and Glenn Maxwell (0) within the space of just three deliveries.

He removed Mitchell Johnson (3) with the first ball of his next over to finish on figures of 5/21.
