JOHANNESBURG - The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) says it intends on staging a protest against Steve Hoymeyr at a venue the Afrikaans musician will be performing at.

Last month the musician tweeted "blacks were the architects of apartheid" - which has caused major back lash including criticism from Chester Missing puppet master Conrad Koch.

The ANCYL says they stand behind comedian Koch and will disrupt Hofmeyr's concert at the Dutch reformed church in Pretoria.

The ANCYL's Tsepo Masanabo says, "We have a right to protest outside of the venue on Saturday and Sunday, telling them we are aware of what Hofmeyr is doing and if they are going to be continuously using him as they have been doing, they need to stop it."
