'Plastic summer' boom
R50 million in loans has been approved for plastic surgery clients in South Africa over the past 3 months.
CAPE TOWN - It appears more and more women are giving themselves an early Christmas gift in the form of plastic surgery.
A local company offering financing for these procedures says there has been a marked increase in demand for their services.
First Health Finance's, Jason Sive, says more than R50 million worth of applications have been processed over the past three months alone.
Tummy tucks and liposuction are topping the list of cosmetic procedures on offer.
"The pre-summer period is always the busiest for us, the three months leading up to summer and I think most of our consumers are trying to get their bodies beach-ready for summer and try and recover before they leave and go on holiday."
