Uitsig stab victim in stable condition
Barren Langley was attacked while walking with his nephew who was hacked to death in Uitsig at the weekend.
CAPE TOWN - Tygerberg Hospital officials say an Uitsig man who was assaulted and stabbed several times is now in a stable condition.
Twenty eight-year-old Barren Langley was attacked while walking with his teenage nephew, Justin Langley, in Uitsig in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Seventeen-year-old Justin died in front of his mother after being hacked to death by a group of people.
Police arrested six suspects who were denied bail at the Goodwood Magistrates Court yesterday.
Tygerberg hospital's Laticia Pienaar says, "He suffered multiple stab wounds to his whole body. He is currently in a stable condition."
At the same time, an Uitsig pastor says there's a feeling of outrage permeating in the community following Justin's murder.
A memorial service for Justin will be held in the area this evening.
Pastor Adam Alexander says the community is adamant it will root out bad elements.
"There are only five people that keep the community in a prison. We feel like the prisoners now because five people took over. We as a community have to stand up."
