JOHANNESBURG - Two of the men arrested in a major drug trafficking bust last night have appeared in the Middelburg Magistrates Court.

Police took five suspects into custody and seized narcotics and chemicals used to make drugs worth R85 million.

A Durban club owner and another man were arrested on the N4 highway in Mpumalanga after being found in possession of ecstasy pills.

The police's Solomon Makgale says the pair will be back in court next week.

Police believe the drugs were being transported to a house in Westville in KwaZulu-Natal where they later arrested another three men.

Makgale says those suspects will appear once the chemicals they seized at the house have been tested.

"We're going to wait for the forensics report before proceeding with the matter."
