SA, Burundi sign cooperation agreement

It's Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza's first time in SA since he took office in 2005.

CAPE TOWN - South Africa and Burundi have signed an agreement designed to boost cooperation between the two countries.

It's Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza's first time in South Africa since he took office in 2005.

He met with President Jacob Zuma at Tuynhuys in Cape Town this morning.

Zuma warmly welcomed Nkurunziza.

"It is my honour and privilege to welcome you to South Africa Mr President on your first state visit to our country. This is an historic occasion for us."
