SA Weather: More heavy rain expected this week
The weather service has warned that heavy rain will affect many parts of the country.
JOHANNESBURG - More heavy rain is expected in many parts the country including Gauteng.
The South African Weather Service has warned the Free State, North West and Western Cape could also experience flash floods.
Joburg emergency service's Robert Mulaudzi says officials are on high alert to help affected areas.
"Mostly it will be your low-lying areas, especially in the areas which are most vulnerable. Areas like Alexandra and also Kaalfontein in Ivory Park."
Joburg Metro Police's Edna Mamonyane has urged motorist's to be more vigilant and to avoid low lying bridges.
"Following distance, headlamps on and try to accommodate everybody on the road and lower their speed."
The news of heavy rain could also signal more woes for people living in and around Gauteng where there have been sporadic power failures.
