JOHANNESBURG - Eskom says at the moment the country's power supply is stable following this week's power supply alert.
On Thursday the utility had to instruct customers to cut down 10 percent of their electricity usage to avoid widespread blackouts.
The parastatal says weekends are the ideal way to build up the reserves in order to match the high demand on Monday again.
The company's Andrew Etzinger says, "The low demand over the weekend has given us a much needed break in order to replenish next week.
"At the moment it's about filling our diesel tanks and pumping water up the hill to the top dam of our pump storage so that they're ready for Monday."
