Disgruntled WC farmworkers suspend planned march
Laborers planned to demonstrate in De Doorns today but failed to get permission.
CAPE TOWN - Disgruntled farmworkers have suspended their march in the Western Cape until further notice.
Laborers planned to demonstrate in De Doorns today but failed to get permission from the relevant authorities.
Farmworker's Union Bawusa along with Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) warned workers would embark on mass action to protest their living and working conditions.
Bawusa's Nosey Pieterse says the circumstances for Boland farmworkers remains a concern.
"We had the option of going ahead without permission but that would have disrupted people."
