Meyiwa & Mulaudzi to get official provincial funerals
The national flag will be flown at half-mast in KZN & Limpopo where Meyiwa & Mulaudzi will be buried.
The national flag will be flown at half-mast in KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo on Saturday, where the two will be laid to rest.
Presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj says, "A provincial official funeral means that the national flag will be flown at half-mast in the relevant province on the day of the funeral and other details related to that will be announced by the provinces."
Mulaudzi was killed in a car crash earlier this month while Meyiwa was shot dead at his girlfriend's mother's home in Vosloorus on Sunday night.
All three athletes will be laid to rest this weekend.
Meanwhile, a memorial service for Meyiwa is set to start at the Durban City Hall in KwaZulu-Natal at this hour.
The stage is decorated with black and white draping and a colourful national flag has pride of place inside the hall.
Programmes showing the late Meyiwa's face have been placed on each chair and officials are hurrying to ensure that everything is in order before the fallen soccer star's family and guests arrive.
The memorial service is set to begin soon.
