Motsepe donates $1m to fight Ebola
Motsepe has called on other businesses to contribute to help curb the spread of Ebola.
JOHANNESBURG - South African businessman Patrice Motsepe has donated $1 million to fight Ebola in West Africa.
Almost 5,000 people have now died from what is regarded as the worst outbreak of Ebola in history.
The virus is spread by the bodily fluids of victims, who bleed, vomit and suffer diarrhoea in its final stages.
Motsepe has called on other businesses to contribute to help curb the spread of the deadly virus.
The Motsepe Foundation's Sandile Langa said, "It's a commitment Motsepe made on behalf of the foundation."
While South Africa remains Ebola free, government has placed special emphasis on airports by stepping up health preventative measures, specifically at OR Tambo International and Lanseria airports.
