SACP demands Tshabalala's qualifications
SACP has once again called on SABC board chairperson Ellen Tshabalala to come clean about her qualifications.
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Communist Party (SACP) has once again called on South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board chairperson Ellen Tshabalala to come clean about her qualifications.
Tshabalala has approached the Western Cape High Court in efforts to stop a Parliamentary probe into her credentials.
The SABC board chair lists both a Bcom and a post graduate degree on her CV.
The University of South Africa says while Tshabalala registered at the institution she has not completed any qualification.
The SACP'S Alex Mashilo says Tshabalala needs to produce proof.
"She must do the country an honour and produce her qualifications and stop wasting time."
Meanwhile, the broadcaster's Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng is appealing the Western Cape High Court's order on his suspension.
The Western Cape High Court ordered on Friday that Motsoeneng face a disciplinary hearing and be suspended with full pay.
This is after Public Protector Thuli Madonsela released a report on Motsoeneng in February, while he was acting COO.
Madonsela found that his salary increased from R1.5 million to R2.4 million in one year, that he had purged senior staff, and misrepresented his matric qualifications to the SABC.
