CAPE TOWN - Executive Director of Hosken Consolidated Investments (HCI), Yunis Shaik, says the company will oppose Marcel Golding's urgent application to stop an internal disciplinary process against him.

HCI is the holding company of free to air broadcaster, eTV, at which Golding is Chief Executive Officer.

He's brought an urgent application to the Labour Court in Cape Town to stop the disciplinary hearing.

Media gathered outside Cape Town's Labour Court this morning ahead of the hearing which is due to begin shortly.

Golding, a former unionist and Member of Parliament, is hoping, if granted, the application will halt that disciplinary hearing which is scheduled for Monday.

This morning, Shaik told Eyewitness News that the board believes it should go ahead with the internal hearing.
