An ongoing strike by Rea Vaya bus drivers has shut down routes into the city from Soweto & other areas.
About 60 drivers from Pioneer Transport, operating the routes from the south, stopped working this week.
Commuters only learnt of the strike on Thursday, when the buses failed to show up.
The city's Benny Makgoga says, "The buses that are affected by the strike has feeder routes that are operating mostly in Soweto, Naledi, Protea Glen, Jabavu, Mofolo and Eldorado Park as well as from Dobsonville to Ellis Park."
