SABC chair goes to court to halt Parliamentary inquiry
Tshabalala has reportedly approached the WC High Court to derail the inquiry into her qualifications.
CAPE TOWN - Embattled SABC board chairperson, Ellen Tshabalala, has gone to the courts in a bid to derail a Parliamentary inquiry into her qualifications.
The Mail and Guardian is reporting Tshabalala has lodged papers with the Western Cape High Court to stop the process.
The inquiry into allegations that she lied about her academic qualifications is expected to start this afternoon.
While Tshabalala's CV states she's got a BCom degree from UNISA, as well as a post-graduate degree in Labour Relations, the university says its records show she has neither of the qualifications.
The Communications Portfolio Committee last month proposed Tshabalala be suspended pending the outcome of the probe.
