'Telkom marketing campaign too invasive'
Clients have raised security concerns with Telkom's new door-to-door campaign.
JOHANNESBURG - A Johannesburg based company says it won't back down on face-to-face marketing for Telkom despite consumers' security concerns.
The promotions company is going door-to-door to inform Telkom landline clients about upgrading to a new network.
However many people have complained the face-to-face marketing campaign is invasive.
Over the past few years' police have also urged people to be wary of letting people posing as Telkom or Eskom workers into their homes, but Real Promotions' Charl Gildenhuys says that's how his company does business.
"We realise that in Cape Town specifically the consumer is a bit more cautious then in Johannesburg. I think this is short of snowball up to the point where it used to be an issue once a week but it's something that's coming up a couple of times a week now."
