CT cops make R900k abalone bust
Traffic officials arrested a man on the N2 Highway near Grabouw after searching his vehicle.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape traffic officials have arrested a man in possession of abalone worth over R900,000.
A man driving a Mercedes Benz was arrested on the N2 Highway near Grabouw, after traffic officers searched his vehicle.
Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says, "We confiscated abalone to the value of [more or less] R910,500 and over 1,821 pieces of abalone were confiscated."
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, provincial traffic officers and police have arrested a man in possession of the drug khat during a road block on the N1 Highway near Rawsonville.
