CAPE TOWN - It's been a tragic end to the weekend on Western Cape roads with 12 fatalities reported in 24 hours.

Authorities say the high number of pedestrian deaths remains a concern.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says clamping down on reckless drivers is only part of the solution.

"We appeal to motorists to stop drinking and driving and make sure that all passengers are buckled up."
