JOHANNESBURG - The Golden Lions are in complete control of their Currie Cup semi-final against the Sharks at Ellis Park.

Superior handling skills and excellent set pieces made sure the hosts went into the break with a commanding twenty point lead.

Tries from Howard Mnisi, Jaco Kriel and Ross Cronje, the latter two coming in the final two minutes of the half, means Johann Ackermann's men lead 23-3 at half time.

For the Sharks, very little went right, particularly suffering in the set pieces, finding it almost impossible to attack off backfoot ball.

The Lions have one foot in the Currie Cup final, but will need to maintain their dominance in the second half to avoid any Sharks comeback.
