JOHANNESBURG - The SA Football Association (Safa) says it has not even considered hosting the African Cup of Nations, because the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not taken a decision on the matter.

Host country Morocco has asked for the January tournament to be postponed due to fears surrounding Ebola.

Reports have now emerged that South Africa is being considered.

However, Safa President Danny Jordaan says a number of countries are being looked at ahead of the tournament.

"Morocco wrote the letter to CAF and they indicated they will engage Morocco on the 3 November."

In a letter drafted on the 12th of October, in the possession of EWN Sport, CAF has asked Safa, as well as others, to consider hosting the 2015 edition instead of Morroco.

Jordaan says the situation must be discussed with government if need be as thousands will travel to the country.

Almost 4,500 people have died from Ebola in West Africa so far this year.
