CAPE TOWN - Despite a week long search, police divers have still not been able to find an 8-year-old boy who is presumed to have drowned in Hermanus.

The boy was swimming in a tidal pool when a wave washed him out to sea last week.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's Craig Lambinon says their team is continuing the search.

"Police divers are continuing their search in Hermanus for the eight-year-old child who went missing on Friday. Despite the ongoing extensive search, no sign of the child has been found at this stage but the police divers are continuing with that search, as well as local police."
