RANDBURG - A police official has been airlifted to hospital after he was shot by an unknown number of suspects who opened fire as they tried to flee from an attempted cash heist in Randburg.
Police say the suspects tried to rob security guards who were making their way to a drop off point with a cash box.
When the suspects approached, the guards ran back to their vehicle prompting the suspects to open fire.
Its unclear how many shots were fired.
