CAPE TOWN - Police say a gang of men targeted a store at the High Constantia Shopping Centre in the early hours of this morning.

Police spokesman Frederic van Wyk says police are searching for the suspects.

"The suspects fled in two different vehicles. Details regarding the incident are still sketchy but we can say no injuries have been reported. "

This is just one of several robberies at a number of shopping malls in the Mother City in recent weeks.

Last week, the Canal Walk Shopping Center was hit twice.

Police arrested a suspect in connection with that robbery just days after.

The 33-year-old was tracked down in Strand, with police not ruling out the possibility of more arrests to follow soon.

Meanwhile police have vowed to work with mall management to beef up security measures as the festive season approaches.

Police in the Western Cape and Gauteng have said they are concerned about the spate in mall robberies and would tackle it head on.
