JOHANNESBURG - About 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine has been seized at OR Tambo International Airport.
A South African Revenue Service (Sars) Customs team made the discovery today and estimate the drugs are worth R59 million.
Two separate parcels from the West African country of Benin were identified for further checks and sniffer dogs reacted positively to the cargo.
Sars spokesperson Marika Muller says it's the biggest seizure of tik at the Johannesburg airport.
"On examination, they found a crystal lines, sugar like substance. Two tests have confirmed the substance to be crystal meth also known as tik."
