Injury concerns for Blue Bulls ahead of Currie Cup
Burger Odendaal has been ruled out of rugby for the next two months after suffering a broken arm.
CAPE TOWN - The Blue Bulls have some injury concerns ahead of Saturday's Currie Cup semi-final against Western Province.
Inside centre Burger Odendaal has been ruled out of rugby for the next two months after suffering a broken arm, and will miss Saturday's Currie Cup semi-final match against Western Province, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed on Monday.
Odendaal suffered a Galleazi fracture to his arm in the match against Griquas last Saturday and will be out of action for between 8 to 10 weeks.
Another casualty in the match was Piet van Zyl who suffered an ankle sprain and will be given until Thursday to recover ahead of the trip to Cape Town.
He will undergo physiotherapy in the meantime.
The Bulls fourth place finish on the table set up a semi-final duel with their bitter rivals, Western Province who ended the regular season top of the log.
Johannesburg's Ellis Park Stadium will host the other semi-final, as the Lions play host to the third placed Sharks.
Semi finals on 18 October 2014
Lions vs. Sharks at Ellis Park (Kick-off 2:30pm)
Western Province vs. Blue Bulls at Newlands stadium (Kick-off 5pm)
