HARARE, Zimbabwe - An NGO in Zimbabwe has criticised First Lady Grace Mugabe for her threats to spill the blood of anyone who tries to take away a farm she seized during Zimbabwe's land reform programme.

In a statement, The Heal Zimbabwe Trust said the First Lady is supposed to champion the interests of women and children, who have borne the brunt of violence.

The rights group says she is supposed to exemplify good leadership through peaceful co-existence,

but Mugabe is encouraging lawlessness through her words and actions.

The group says the first lady should not incite people to retaliate when attacked.

She made her threat at a rally in the central town of Gweru last week.

Mugabe told supporters that no one will remove her from her farm, and she'd spill the blood of anyone who tried to.

The first lady is addressing crowds at a stadium in Gwanda, southern Zimbabwe today as speculation mounts that she's aiming for a pos t well above the head of the women's league.
