Boy swept out to sea in Hermanus

The eight-year-old boy was apparently with friends in the tidal pool at the time.

CAPE TOWN -A search is underway for an eight-year-old boy who was swept out to sea in Hermanus.

It's understood the child was swimming near the local beach club when he disappeared while in the surf.

He was apparently with friends in the tidal pool at the time.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI)'s Craig Lambinon says, "No sign of the child has been found."
