CAPE TOWN - Water supply in Mogale City in Johannesburg has been fully restored.

After three weeks of problems, the local municipality says affected areas will once again have water.

An electrical problem at one of Rand Water's main pumping stations set off a domino effect cutting off water supplies to many areas in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

The municipality's Nkosana Zali said, "We are pleased that the Kenmare Reservoir and Sump have gone above 5 metres and 3.4 metres respectively, which means that we have adequate safety in our system. This also means that all areas will now have enough pressure or normal water supply."
