CAPE TOWN - The mother of a two-month-old baby who was kidnapped in Paarl last week says she is overjoyed he is alive and well.

Azile Skafu was snatched from his parents' home on Friday.

A woman has been arrested in connection with his kidnapping after the baby was found late yesterday.

The infant was sleeping in his mother Monica's arms when Eyewitness News visited the family this morning.

His mother said she won't let her little boy out of her sight following the kidnap drama.

Police say two teenage girls found the suspect with Skafu under a tree in the Mbekweni township on Tuesday.

She then apparently gave the child to them before running away.

Police later tracked her down in Wellington.

She is due to appear in court today in connection with the crime.
