E-tolling 'high on agenda' at ANC conference
The Gauteng ANC is expected to elect new leaders at this weekend's conference.
JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng is expected to elect new leaders this weekend, with controversial issues like the water crisis, electricity bills and e-tolls high on the agenda.
More than 400 branches will attend the conference in Pretoria.
Current deputy provincial secretary Boyce Maneli says the party can't ignore the e-tolling controversy.
"As a party that listens to the people, we should be looking at the impact of e-tolls on the lives of people in Gauteng. So as we engage in policy discussions, we should be able to discuss these issues as they affect our people and see what else needs to be done."
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and President Jacob Zuma are expected to address the congress.
