Afcon qualifiers: Serero and Erasmus recalled
Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has recalled Kermit Erasmus and Thulani Serero to the national squad.
CAPE TOWN - Bafana Bafana has released the names of the squad to face Congo in the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Brazzaville next month.
The team is playing back-to-back qualifying matches for the 2015 Afcon which takes place in Morocco in January.
Ajax Amsterdam's Thulani Serero and Kermit Erasmus of Orlando Pirates were both recalled to the squad by coach Shakes Mashaba.
Both players missed out on selections for the first two qualifying matches against Sudan and Nigeria last month.
Serero last played for Bafana under previous coach Gordan Igesund against Australia and New Zealand.
Erasmus was last in national colours against Swaziland in November 2013.
Bafana opened their Afcon qualifying with a 3-0 win against Sudan in Khartoum followed by a 0-0 draw against Nigeria in Cape Town five days later.
The first game against Congo takes place at Stade Municipal de Pointe-Noire in Brazzaville on 11 October at 16:30.
The second game takes place in South Africa on 15 October at 20:00 at a venue still to be announced.
