JOHANNESBURG - The first round of the 2014 Telkom Knockout draw took place last night and will see defending champions Platinum Stars take on Chippa United in the first match of the tournament.

Newly crowned MTN8 champions Kaizer Chiefs will take on Maritzburg United at home, while Orlando Pirates will travel away to Polokwane City.

Stuart Baxter's men will be looking to add another trophy to their cabinet and continue their winning streak.

Chiefs are yet to lose a match this season.

The Buccaneers will be looking to reclaim their dominance and battle it out to reach another final after having lost to Amakhosi on Saturday.

Mamelodi Sundowns, who have been rather tepid, will seek to redeem themselves and get back to winning ways when they take on University of Pretoria in another Tshwane derby.

Free State Stars will visit Supersport United and Ajax Cape Town will play Mpumalanga Black Aces at home.

Aces have had a trough start to the season having won only one game out of the league's six.

Other matches will see Amazulu take on Bloemfontein Celtic and Wits taking on Moroka Swallows.

The first round will kick off on 4 October.
