CAPE TOWN - A section of the N2 in Grabouw has been closed to traffic due to a protest.

It's unclear who's behind the protest.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says cars are being stoned and protesters have dumped oil across the road.

"We had to close down the N2 at Sir Lowry's Pass, Gordon's Bay and on the Cape Town side of and Caledon side of Sir Lowry's Pass near Botrivier."
