Cosatu urges public to join 'Generations' boycott
The trade union federation has said the labour dispute has now become about much more than the soapie.
JOHANNESBURG - The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has once again called on South Africans to boycott _Generations _this week.
The trade union federation has held a meeting with the actors in Johannesburg.
The 16 cast members were dismissed on 18 August after going on strike to demand higher wages and royalties.
Cosatu's Zwelinzima Vavi warned potential replacements not be persuaded.
"Don't be used by the arrogant producing companies in order to maintain and continue the exploitation of your fellow actors."
Vavi says from tonight, no South African must tune into SABC 1 to watch the popular soapie.
