JOHANNESBURG - Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Haroon Lorgat has confirmed that Proteas head coach Russell Domingo has had his contract extended by a year, until April 2016.

That after his initial contract was scheduled to expire early next year.

Lorgat says that it was a unanimous decision taken by the board.

"I had discussions with the three different captains and with other people within the team. There is a great amount of happiness, lots of support for Russell. I think it was the right thing to do to so that as the team now prepares for the coming season. There is no issue for Russell about his future when he comes back. He has done well and he deserves it."

Lorgat also explained that despite the last financial year seeing them take a hit as a result of the curtailed tour by India - CSA performed well, financially.

"We have concluded the audit, the public accounts presented at the AGM. We declared a profit of R199 million which was just R18 million short of what we had targeted for the year."
