JOHANNESBURG - Elias Pelembe capitalised on a defensive mistake from Bloemfontein Celtic to net the only goal of the match for his Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon at Free State Stadium.

The win gives the Brazilians their second consecutive victory and moves them up into 5th place on the PSL log, equal on 10 points with Bidvest Wits, who lost to Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Celtic stay in the bottom half of the table for now, having just won a single match so far and are sitting in 11th on six points.

Elsewhere, Chippa United eased to a 2-0 victory over a 10-man Moroka Swallows on Sunday afternoon, through second half goals for Ugonna Uzochukwu and David Zulu.

The Birds were reduced to 10 men after a highly disputed red card for debutant Anver Esterhuizen for what was deemed to be an elbow to the face of Uzochukwu. The win moves Chippa into 9th place on the log, on equal standing with Swallows who have seven points from their six matches played.
