Jewish Board slams Tutu, Hitler comparison
The Jewish Board of Deputies has expressed shock at article comparing Archbishop Desmond Tutu to Hitler.
CAPE TOWN - The South African Jewish Board of Deputies says it's appalled by an online opinion piece that compares Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu to dictators Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.
The article referred to the Arch as ' the latest self-appointed midget of history' who wants to destroy the Jewish people.
The piece has since been removed from the Jewish Report.
In it, the writer says Tutu would 'kill Jews' before protecting Christians and accuses the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of working with Hamas towards the destruction of the Jewish state.
The Jewish Board of Deputies' Mary Kluk says, "The image that was posted with it was deeply offensive and we don't believe that it's appropriate. You can have a disagreement with people about how they see things, we can all engage in lively debates, as long as they're respectful. But this doesn't achieve anything."
