Botswana deportee still missing
Lawyers for Human Rights says they still don't know where Edwin Samotse actually is.
JOHANNESBURG - Lawyers for Human Rights says it's extremely worried the Department of Home Affairs has essentially ignored a Constitutional Court ruling by deporting a man wanted for murder in Botswana.
This despite not receiving an assurance he won't face the death penalty.
The department confirmed this week two of its officials have been suspended for handing over Edwin Samotse to Botswana authorities.
The organisation's David Coke says they still don't know where Samotse actually is.
"We've attempted to try to locate him to find out where he's being detained and where he'll appear in court. We haven't been able to locate him so we want South Africa to try locate him so a lawyer can go visit him."
