JOHANNESBURG -A case of assault has been opened by a motorist at the Midrand police station, following another alleged attack by a blue-light brigade member.

Twenty one-year-old Bernard Venter was travelling as a passenger in a car last week and says he was punched in the face and insulted by a blue-light member.

Scharl Venter, the father of the victim, says his son was attacked on Friday despite doing nothing wrong.

"I would like this matter to go to the highest court to ensure that not only my son, but any other member of the public does not suffer the same or even worse consequences."
