Flight cuts to hit CT tourism hard
Virgin Atlantic has announced it will be focusing more on the US market.
CAPE TOWN - Cape Town Tourism says it may be hit hard by a decision by Virgin Atlantic to cut flights to the city from London.
The airline has announced this is part of restructuring that will see it focus more on the US market.
Virgin Atlantic planes are expected to touch down in Cape Town for the last time on the 26 April next year.
Cape Town Tourism's Enver Dominy says, "The slight cuts will definitely impact on tourism to the destination, especially if you look at Summer where the demand for Cape Town is quite great, especially from the UK market."
