CAPE TOWN - Cape Town city bosses have expressed concern over attacks on traffic officers following two separate incidents this week.

A traffic officer is recovering in hospital after he was shot at his home in Kraaifontien.

Another official's home was also stoned.

The City's JP Smith fears these may be deliberate attempts to intimidate law enforcement officers.

"We have asked management to urgently consider appropriate remedial and risk mitigation measures to make sure that we can protect the staff, specifically the traffic cops at this stage."
