Second US journalist 'beheaded' by Islamic State

JOHANNESBURG - An Islamic State video has surfaced purporting to show the beheading of Steven Sotloff, a US journalist being held hostage by the militants.
The execution was reportedly filmed but there has been no immediate confirmation of the video.
Sotloff (31) went missing in Syria last year while covering the conflict there. Islamic State released of video last week in which he could be seen kneeling following the filmed decapitation of fellow journalist James Foley.
The Islamic State, which has declared a caliphate in territory it has captured in Syria and Iraq, threatened to kill Sotloff if its demands, which include halting American air strikes against the group, are not met.
