Politics took the back seat as the Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba tied the knot with his long time girlfriend Nomachule Mngoma.
The home affairs minister got married in a lavish VIP ceremony attended by 500 guests in Durban yesterday.
Mngoma walked down the aisle in a David Tlale gown.
Congratulations are in order for US actress Gabrielle Union and her basketball-playing beau Dwyane Wade tied the knot in Miami in front of an intimate crowd of family and friends.
Singer and songwriter John legend performed at the ceremony which marked the second marriage for both.
The news of their marriage comes in a week full of celebrity weddings that began with Brangelina and will see Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny Mccarthy get hitched today.
Both Wade and Union have been married once before. Wade has three kids.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old slice of cake from the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana has sold for over R13 thousand on auction.
A private collector snagged the slice to mark the 17th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
The cake came in its original white and silver presentation box with a card reading with best wishes from their royal highnesses, the prince and princess of wales.
The slice is wrapped in wax paper but experts have warned not to eat it.
