JOHANNESBURG - The High Court in Johannesburg has ruled that the Zoo Lake Bowling Club is allowed to continue operating at its current premises for now.

A lease agreement between the Joburg Property Company and Kenako Consulting owned by businessman Saths Cooper was set aside this afternoon.

The property company and Kenako concluded a nine-year lease deal last year after the bowling club was excluded from the tender because it did not meet the minimum requirements.

The High Court judgment has declared Kenako Consulting lease's with the Joburg Property Company and the city null and void.

The Zoo Lake Bowling Club was excluded from the second phase of the tender bid.

At the time, it was speculated that the area would be turned into a medical treatment centre.

The club's application to be awarded the tender and lease has also been set aside which means another lengthy process over who will occupy the space will now follow.

The Joburg Property Company has not been available for comment.
