Police probe Red Ant assault

JOHANNESBURG - Police are investigating a case of assault and damage to property after Johannesburg residents allegedly pelted members of the Red Ants with stones.

The notorious Red Ants evicted about 200 families from a block of flats in Joubert Park on Thursday.

The police's Augustinah Selepe says six Red Ants were involved in Thursday's attack but says no one has been arrested.

"There was a fight between the tenants and the Red Ants. The tenants were throwing stones at the Red Ants."
