CAPE TOWN - The Grabouw Elgin Civic Association has warned of possible protests in the area today.

Dozens of community members are expected to take to the streets in a service delivery protest.

The association was at the forefront of violent demonstrations in the area about three years ago.

The organisation's John Michaels says top African National Congress (ANC) officials are expected to join the community later today.

"Since 2011, we had a big blast in Grabouw. There were grievances that we handed over to mayor and after three - nearly four- years, we're still battling. Because of that, we decided to take to the streets again."
