Two officers shot at Pretoria court

It’s understood an accused shot the two men before he and an accomplice escaped.

PRETORIA - It's believed two police officers have been shot at the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

It's understood an accused shot the two men before he and an accomplice escaped.

An eyewitness says people were sent scattering when gunshots rang out from Courtroom 7 on the third floor of the court.

The witness says the two men then hijacked a vehicle in the street and sped away.

Police say the vehicle has since been recovered in Atteridgeville.

The condition of the victims is not currently known. However it is understood they are still alive and receiving treatment.

It's unclear at this stage how the gunmen came across the firearm.
