JOHANNESBURG - The ' Ice Bucket Challenge',which has had celebrities from Oprah to Justin Bieber soaked and frozen, is now making its way around the world to raise money for cancer.
People are being filmed pouring freezing cold water over their heads for charity and then nominating someone else to take party so the trend spreads on social media.
It first started in America to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a motor neuron disease.
So far, US President Barack Obama has been the only high-profile person to not take part.
Former Boston College baseball captain Pete Frates, who inspired the effort that has raised millions, had his career cut short by the disease.
Frates nominated fellow Boston athletes to take part and the trend quickly went viral inspiring leaders, celebrities and personalities including Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Timberlake and even Bill Gates to take part.
